Fees and Costs
Fees and costs
The Scout year is broken up in to 2 six-month long Treks. The 1st Trek runs from January to June and the 2nd Trek runs from July to December.
All members, young and old, must re-register at the start of each Trek before they can take part in any activity for that period, including meetings.
For 2024 the fees per year will be:
- State fee: $280
- Group fee: $140
The state fee covers the cost of insurance, maintenance and administration of the ScoutsNSW state body. The group fee is the portion that our group receives and contributes to the ongoing maintenance and administration of the group.
Payment plans are available.
Other costs:
There will be additional costs for activties such as camps, hikes and visits to external venues such as indoor rock climbing or observatories. We do strive to keep these as low and accessible as possible and will only charge the bare minimum to cover costs on each event.
Scouts at the group level is run purely by volunteers (aka parents) and we do not seek to make a profit. Any surplus funds are returned to the group to ensure its long term viability.
